City District 6

Located in the Northeast San Fernando Valley, District 6 includes the proud neighborhood of Arleta, Lake Balboa, North Hollywood, North Hills, Panorama City, Van Nuys, and Sun Valley, which are often considered the heart of the Valley. Each neighborhood carries its own unique history and has formed a vital part of Los Angeles’ history.

Today, Councilmember Imelda Padilla, who was elected to represent the District in 2023, draws inspiration from the Valley’s rich history to propel it into the future, driving innovation and investment to the region.

Neighborhoods

Arleta

Arleta is a neighborhood in the San Fernando Valley. It is bordered by the Los Angeles districts of Mission Hills and North Hills on the north, Sun Valley on the east, Pacoima on the northeast, and Panorama City on the west.

Lake Balboa

Lake Balboa is the newest community within CD 6. This beautiful neighborhood was previously part of Van Nuys and became its own community in 2007.

North Hills

North Hills is located in the central San Fernando Valley region of the City of Los Angeles, 21 miles northwest of downtown. North Hills East begins West of the Pacoima Wash.

Panorama City

Panorama City is known as the San Fernando Valley’s first planned community and it is considered to be the Heart of the Valley to this day.

Sun Valley & North Hollywood

Sun Valley and North Hollywood East are part of the North East San Fernando Valley. These communities are very diverse, with many local businesses established within the neighborhoods.

Van Nuys

Van Nuys is a vibrant neighborhood located in the San Fernando Valley region of Los Angeles, California. With its diverse community and bustling streets, Van Nuys offers a unique blend of urban amenities and suburban charm.
