Arleta is a neighborhood in the San Fernando Valley. It is bordered by the Los Angeles districts of Mission Hills and North Hills on the north, Sun Valley on the east, Pacoima on the northeast, and Panorama City on the west. Arleta was once part of Pacoima. Arleta was officially recognized in 1968 when residents in the western half of Pacoima led a petition to form Arleta.. A true gem in Arleta is the Arleta Community Garden Club. The Garden Club has been a leader in healthy, sustainable, and fair food to the community for decades. A couple of fun facts about Arleta: it was once home to the Juicy Couture headquarters, and some of the most memorable scenes from Back to the Future were filmed on Roslyndale Avenue, where the McFly residence still stands. Arleta was also considered one of the last rural communities of Los Angeles up until post-World War II when manufacturing jobs came to the neighborhood, creating more jobs and making Arleta the strong working-class community it continues to be today.
